Bombay Colour: Jet Black. Grooming: Bombays require little grooming. Simply petting will ensure coat is soft, shiny and free of dead hair. A rubber brush can be used for excess shedding. A nutritional diet will add a gloss to the coat and fuel for the cats natural energy. Best Home: "Instant Lap Cat" would probably describe the heat-seeking Bombay lifestyle best. Each gender will make an equally great pet. They do get along with other breeds but a Bombay would usually want to dominate the other cats. A dog could possibly be a good companion for a Bombay. |
Appearance: The Bombay resembles the Burmese much more than the American Shorthair. The cat moves gracefully and sinuously. Like the Burmese, they are well built and unexpectedly heavy. A slightly longer body adds to the panther like appearance. Eyes are most commonly copper or gold. Occasionally, kittens will be a rich sable brown. Personality: Agile and smart, Bombays will often seek out interaction with humans. They are curious and will inspect a visitors purse or package. They love nothing more than to be held. Some can be very charismatic and they have a distinctive voice. |
